November is a time to honor the thousands of home care aides, nurses, social workers and therapists who make a positive difference in the lives of patients and their families. These special caregivers have an important role in homes across the country as well as in our health care system. National Home Care and Hospice Month is an ideal time to raise awareness about the importance of home care services, like ours, and celebrate the professional caregivers, like the 250 we have on our Kadan team.

The National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) is celebrating November with the following themes:

Home Care: Home is the Center of Health Care

Hospice: Hospice = Love in Action

Private Duty: Loving Care Tailored to Each Family’s Needs

Home Care Aide Week (November 9-15, 2014): Caring in Action

“It is highly appropriate in November that we celebrate the nurses, therapists, aides, and other providers who choose to use their lives to serve our country’s aged, disabled, and dying,” said Val J. Halamandaris, NAHC President. “No work is nobler, and no group is more deserving of our respect and admiration. Their goal is helping society’s weakest members live the fullest lives they can. Home care professionals and volunteers allow patients to get care at home where they can be with the ones they love,” said Halamandaris.
At Kadan Home Care, we wholeheartedly agree that “Home is the Center of Health Care”. As aging adults prefer to remain in their own homes as long as possible, they may need help around the home to maintain their independence and/or have a medical diagnosis that requires attention. Home care has become the most popular choice of care for seniors. Research shows that most seniors say they prefer to age at home in familiar surroundings. Home care may be a perfect fit for them. Additionally, home care options vary from daytime or part-time hours to around-the-clock care with differing levels of care and support.

The role of the in-home caregiver is very important. Therefore, so is selecting the right home care partner. Our professional staff meets patients and their loved ones in their home. There is an intimacy and connection established that rarely
occurs in other settings.

November is also a month for giving thanks. And so, in celebration of National Home Care and Hospice Month and Thanksgiving, we offer our heartfelt thanks to our Kadan team of caregivers who make a difference every day for our clients. We also celebrate the family caregivers, who we partner with to deliver the highest level of support we can for our client, their loved one.

Rosalynn Carter Quote

“Our Kadan caregivers are truly angels,” said Linda Kadan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kadan Home Care. “Caring for people the way they do is more than a job – it’s almost like a calling. They work tirelessly to serve our clients not just because they get paid, but because they are passionate about what they do. We are so grateful for our team members and proud to have them as part of our family.”
