How We Select Kadan's Exceptional Caregivers
It takes a special person to be a part of our Kadan caregiving family. We know that inviting someone into your home, and your family’s life, is a significant decision.
We’ve created an eight-step process to ensure that only the most compassionate, skilled and trustworthy individuals become part of our caregiving family. Your peace of mind starts long before care begins.
Pre-qualification Call
We conduct a thorough telephone screening to understand a candidate's experience, credentials and passion for caregiving. This initial chat helps us determine if they align with Kadan's values.
Application
Candidates must complete our detailed application, providing an in-depth look at:
- employment history
- education
- professional references
- state licensing
In-depth Interview
Our Human Resources Director conducts a one-on-one interview to explore:
- the candidate's motivation
- their caregiving journey
- their unique skills
- proudest accomplishments
Behavior-based Interview Scenarios
What truly sets our process apart are our behavior-based interview scenarios. We present candidates with realistic situations they might encounter in a client's home, asking them to explain their approach.
Background Investigation
We conduct extensive reference checks and a criminal background investigation. This in-depth process reveals any criminal history in the past 7 years, nationwide. The safety and security of our clients and our entire team are our highest priority.
Driving Check
We obtain a motor vehicle report on each candidate from the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Kadan Homecare obtains an annual Motor Vehicle Report on each team member.
Drug Testing
As a Georgia Certified Drug-Free Workplace, Kadan Homecare requires every candidate to pass a thorough drug screening. We also conduct random screenings annually for all team members.
Hands-On Skill Validation & Training Program
The final step is a comprehensive, 16-hour hands-on education and training program. An experienced Registered Nurse assesses essential senior care skills, including:
- ambulation
- body mechanics
- personal care
Caregivers who successfully pass our stringent interviewing, testing and background checks are welcomed to Kadan Homecare with a complete orientation. At this point, we are confident in their skills, compassion and dedication, and we are ready to make the perfect client match.
Ongoing Supervision and Training: Our Commitment to Excellence

Comprehensive New Caregiver Orientation: Every new caregiver begins with two full days of intensive orientation, more than required and more than most other providers. This foundational program ensures they are thoroughly immersed in Kadan’s philosophy, protocols and best practices from day one, setting them up to provide truly exceptional and compassionate care.
Clinical Supervision by a Registered Nurse: Our caregivers benefit from the expert guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) who provides regular clinical supervision. This means a qualified healthcare professional is always overseeing care practices, offering support and ensuring that all medical tasks are performed safely and effectively, giving you added peace of mind.
Comprehensive Ongoing Training & Development: We invest significantly in our caregivers’ professional growth. Through regular training sessions, workshops and access to up-to-date resources, we equip our team with the latest best practices in senior care. This commitment ensures they maintain the highest level of skill, stay updated on compassionate care techniques, and are always prepared to provide truly exceptional support tailored to your loved one’s evolving needs.
